About Troop 9

Troop 9 is a group of scouts and scouters that have come together with
one purpose in mind, to provide simply the most active, engaging,
educational and fun troop that they possibly can!

We are focused on the outdoors, on Scouting skills, and most importantly
on the personal growth and developement of our young men through the program
and policy of BSA and the participation of our active adult Parent leadership.
We strive to help each young man along his path in Scouting, and hope that
we can help each and every youth that comes thru our troop to grow and
benifit from his being here, and, maybe, along the way, Acheive that highest
of scouting ranks, that of Eagle!

We are Managers, Nurses, Bankers, Truckers, Musicians, Computer techs, Agents, Construction workers, Educators, Moms, Dads and Grandparents, all with one goal in mind, to assist the young men of our community to become the Leaders of Tomorrow we all know we must have, and to help ensure that they not only have the tools necessary to make the best moral and mature decisions possible, but to also have the great character
building memories that give them the experiences to draw upon to do so.

We strictly adhere to the BSA Youth Protection strategy:

  • Educate Scouting professionals, volunteers, parents and youth members to aid in the detection and
    prevention of child abuse
  • Strengthen chartered organizations leader selection proceedures to prevent offenders from entering BSA leadership ranks
  • Strengthen policies that create barriers to child abuse within the program
  • Encourage Scouts to report improper behavior in order to identify offenders quickly
  • Swift removal and reporting of alleged offenders
And we strictly enforce the barriers of abuse within scouting:
  • Two deep leadership
  • no one-on-one contact
  • separate accomodations of Adult Leaders and Scouts
  • respect of privacy including the use of cameras, other digital imaging devices
  • No secret organizations
  • Hazing Prohibitied
  • Bullying Prohibited
  • Youth Leader Training
  • Constructive Dicipline
  • The wearing of appropriate attire
